FOMO Photography Worthy Places for Instagram

By : Mindy Wu

Incase you didn’t know, the term FOMO stands for “Fear Of Missing Out”…. and that’s exactly where I stand when hearing about extravagant events happening around New York City. Thanks to @FOMOFeed on Instagram, I can learn about every tiny detail of each event happening throughout New York City! With the growth of social media especially Instagram, I have grown more accustomed to joining such innovative and artistic events for more great content for my personal social media channels.

There was a short Industria pop-up event by American Express in April 2018 where they were giving away FREE food collaboration with other food vendors like Spot Dessert, Thaimee, The Bagel Store, and Cookie Dough. I found it fascinating how they kept refilling the shelves whenever a person took a drink, dessert or small appetizer, but it was actually done by other people behind the walls. I was surprised that this 3-day event wasn’t as popular as other New York City events, but I was able to get a food freebie and of course I chose my favorite, Thai Iced Tea sponsored by Spot Dessert!

During the Summer of 2018, I have heard more news of many events occuring just around Soho or the West Village where you could enter for free, but now I am seeing more pay to enter pop-up events mainly for photography for Instagram. Another free pop-up event I went to during the Summer was The Pint Shop sponsored by The Museum of Ice Cream. The place carried a insta-worthy unique color scheme of shopping aisles used to promote their ice cream pints sold for $4.99, but there was also one free ice cream tasting.

Pop-up events have been happening very frequently lately in New York City and there’s just too many to go to! Going to such events has always been on my hit list, but not when they are 25-40$ for a ticket entry. Here’s a list of events currently happening around New York City for Insta-worthy photos you may or may not want to visit:
