Every year after the Thanksgiving and Black Friday madness ends, New York City goes into preparation for the Holiday seasons in December. This year Rockefeller Center has done it again with their yearly traditional Christmas Tree lightning ritual. On November 28, many New Yorkers and tourists gathered around the crowded Rockefeller Center plaza to watch the big phenomenal Christmas Tree being lit up. When the countdown of the Christmas Tree began, It actually became just as exciting as the New Year’s countdown in Times Square.
Not sure how else to celebrate the holiday season? Visit holiday markets, retail stores and department stores throughout the city to check out their holiday displays! Every year, Macy’s Herald Square always decorates their window displays and department stores with themed decorations to celebrate the holiday season. Don’t forget to check out the holiday markets in Union Square, Bryant Park and Columbus Circle to check out gift ideas for the holiday. One of my annual favorites is the lighting decoration of the Saks Fifth Avenue’s Theater of Dreams located on 5th Avenue because it shows the resemblance of a castle.
Christmas is a great time to spend with your loved ones, friends and family under the Christmas tree while giving and receiving gifts. Christmas is also one of my favorite holidays of the year because it means a New Year is coming and that calls for a New Year’s resolution!
