Nail Colors to Rock This Winter

By Kevelyn Vargas

I’ve been getting my nails done religiously for the last 8 years. Every 2 weeks that salon chair is mine and my nail tech Johanna (shout out to her!) always makes time for me. Over the years I’ve tried almost every color under the sun. I’ve had yellow nails, neon green, burgundy, metallic, holographic and red. But in recent years I’ve gotten more selective with the colors I wear. During the summer, I go crazy and try every bright and neon color I can find. During the winter, I go for a more neutral look. I try a lot of nudes, pastels, and beautiful dark colors. Sometimes if I find a nice shade of olive green I’ll break my seasonal color rule because I get weak in the knees whenever I see a good hue of olive green. Check out some of my favorite winter nail shades.

Dark Navy Blue

Essie Booties on Broadway ($9.00)

I love a good dark navy blue nail. It looks good on your nails at any length and it also adds a hint of dark and mysterious sophistication to your hands.

Deborah Lippmann Nail Color in Fashion ($18)

A good shade of nude or taupe goes such a long way. Its such a clean look and it compliments any nail shape or length. It doesn’t clash with everyday looks and its perfect for everyday wear or office.

Subtle hint of rose gold shimmer

China Glaze Cashmere Crème ($9)

A nice hint of gold or shimmer on your nails is perfect for those holiday office parties or family get togethers. If your outfit is simple spice it up with some subtle gold tones and it’ll even everything out. Plus a good rose gold tone compliments any complexion.

Olive Green

OPI Fall 2016 Washington D.C. Collection, Suzi-The First Lady of Nails ($6.19)

Now this is a beautiful shade of olive green that is sure to look amazing on any set of nails. Every time I get my nails done olive green I get swarmed with compliments and its because its such an underrated color. It can’t fail at looking beautiful at any length or shape.
